Mrs. H. P. Richmond died Thursday night at the residence of a brother, Captain O. F. Simpson, of 384 St. Charles avenue, after a long illness. Although she had been in failing health for several years, her condition was not considered serious until a few weeks ago.
Mrs. Richmond, who was 78 years old, had resided in Atlanta for the past 25 years. She was active in church and civic work, having been a member of the Central Presbyterian church since moving here.
In addition to Captain Simpson, she is survived by a brother, Dr. C. A. Simpson, of Decatur; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Foster Simpson, and two nieces, Mrs. J. A. Whitner and Mrs. John Cooper.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by H. M. Patterson & Son.
