Marie G. Parris, 91, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, November 23, 2009, at Adams Street Place in Jefferson City. She was born January 20, 1918, in Wardsville, Missouri, a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Sommer) Adrian. On July 7, 1938, Marie was united in marriage in Jefferson City, to Eugene T. Parris, who preceded her in death on February 23, 1977.

Marie was a homemaker and raised nine children. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and past member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Marie enjoyed watching sports, baking bread, babysitting and quilting.

She is survived by eight children: Adrian Parris and wife Pam of Kansas City, KS; Tom Parris and wife Lola of Jefferson City; Jerry Parris and wife Pattie of Jefferson City; Shirley Gerling of Holts Summit; Karen Gerling of Jefferson City; Debbie Crede and husband Dave of Westphalia; Jim Parris and wife Terra of Tebbetts; John Parris and wife Kathy of Jefferson City; a daughter-in-law: Kathy Parris of Jefferson City; thirty-one grandchildren; fifty-four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son: Robert "Bob" Parris; four brothers: Harry Adrian, Adolph Adrian, Robert Adrian, Stanley Adrian and two sisters: Henrietta Horat and Clara Schnieders.

Friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with a prayer service to be held at 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2009, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Fr. David J. Veit officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Samaritan Center, 1310 East McCarty St.; Jefferson City, MO 65101.
