Mrs. Maggie Day Back, 76, widow of John Back, died at the
home of a daughter in Hogansburg Sunday from a heart ailment. She had been in poor health for the past four years. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 a. m. in the St. Regis, Canada, Catholic Church, and burial was made there. Mrs. Back was born in St. Regis, Que., June 17, 1870, a daughter of Thomas and Nancy Friday Day. She was married to Mr. Back July 19, 1889. The couple moved to Hogansburg in 1922 and he died there ten years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Josephine McComber and Miss Emma Sam Hogansburg; and two sons, Jacob Sam. New York, and Frank Sam, Syracuse.
