Simon married Sarah Ann Smith on Sept. 27, 1830, at 142 North 8th Street, Philadelphia.
In 1833 Simon maintained a Piano Forte factory at 122 Race Street, the Southwest corner of 4th Street, in Philadelphia. The same building his father Henry Sweitzer had used as a print shop, his mother used to sell books after Henry's death, and his uncle Dr. Benjamin Kugler had used as his doctor's office. By 1838 Simon had relocated his piano factory to Allentown, Lehigh County, Penna. close to where his mother, who had remarried in Phila. to Rev. Daniel Zeller, now lived. Later, when Simon's two sons were grown, they too became cabinet makers and worked for a time in Simon's factory. Simon's factory in Allentown was located at 926 and later 930 Hamilton Street.
