Pookie was the love of my life. She was adopted when a few months old from our local PAWS. She had been found in an abandoned building cold and hungry. She was deathly afraid of people and very traumatized. We brought her home and never saw her for weeks. She hid and only came out at night or when we were at work. Slowly, she came around and would sneak (or so she thought) by us to eat or use her bathroom. She finally became the sweetest little kittie I have ever had. She slept with us and always wanted to be near us but ran and hid when strangers were around. We had the privilege of having Pookie with us for 16 years when she became ill and had to be put down. It was like I lost one of my children.
We still think of you all the time and will always keep you near our hearts.
