Per Molly & Stan Hearron, the stone in Riverside Cemetery, Hanibal, MO reads:
Clara wife of Stephen Emmerton died October 9, 1868 Aged 46 Ys 6 Wks 8 Days

A three line inscription is not legible, even when magnified several times. On the top of the stone sits a Bible with a ribbon marker coming out the bottom and beside the Bible is a single rose flower. It is almost unrecognizable and at first glance just looks like a bump in the stone.

They report that this is no stone for Stephen. He was interred 24 Aug. 1899, Sec C Lot 78.
Record also shows Deed 133, March 17, 1871, Sec C, Lot 78, 16 x 18 ft, purchaser, Stephen Emmerton.

The obelisk for Winnie has her name in capital letters in a semi-circle halfway down the stone. Other words are illegible.

Directions to gravesites at Riverside Cemetery. as you enter and see the flagpole, to you left before you get to the flagpole there is a small road. It is not paved or improved - lots of ruts. Up that hill near the "road" see the first marker "Chipman", up over XXX7 is Plowman, next Hobart and Ownes. to the right 1 lot Eberlick. Uphill is C78 Clara Emmerton Crawford and Winnie Crawford.
