He was born June 25, 1942 in Man, WV, the son of the late Ansel and Fannie (Frye) Brumfield. He was also preceded in death by a brother Bill Brumfield and two sisters, Allie Solo and Faye Ferguson.
He is survived by his wife, of almost 22 years, Elaine (Broadwater) Brumfield, Maysville, WV, who he married on April 12, 1991, also; 1 daughter Sherri Young of Clendenin, WV; 1 son, John Brumfield of Clendenin, WV; 1 step-daughter, Denise Hill of Petersburg, WV; 3 step-sons, Brady Hill and wife, Tia, of Cumberland, MD, Marshall Hill and special friend, Alicia Bryant of Petersburg and Shawn Hill of Petersburg; 3 sisters, Gayle Martin of Lexington, VA, Elsie Smolenski of Brunswick, GA and Hazel Moore of Savarna Park, MD; 1 brother, Wesley Brumfield of VA; 2 grandsons, Franky Young and Jacob Young and fiance, Cindy; 6 step-grandchildren, Kelsey, Madyson and Payton Hill, and Blake, Chase and Lacey Mongold and a great-grandchild, Austin Young.
Stan retired from Iron-workers Local 301, in Charleston, WV and was a United States Marine Veteran. He was an avid hunter and loved spring-time walks in the woods and planting trees. He was a Baptist by faith.
