Boston Globe, Oct 15 1950: Rev. Morris Yanow. Rev. Morris Yanow, 64, of 39 Allen St., Boston, Hebrew linguist and sexton of the North Russell St. synagogue for many years, died suddenly yesterday in Salem while visiting a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Kapan. Mr. Yanow was known to hundreds of Boston business men who visited the Synagogue daily and was frequently reccomended by Harvard University as a 'special tutor for students studying Hebrew.' He leaves a wife, Fannie, a son, Bernard; four other daughters, Mrs. Ann Kipes, Revere, Mrs. Lillian Carron, Worcester, Mrs. Frady Freeman, Somerville, and Mrs. Beatrice Meirick, Newton and a brother, Hyman of Somerville. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in the North Russell St. Synagogue.
