Engle was born in Ft. Wayne, but had lived in Lima for the past 38 years. He was a retired merchant, having at one time operated a clothing store in E. Spring-st.
Engle was a member of St. John church and the Holy Name society. He also was a member of the Borrowed Time club.
Besides his widow and daughter, Mrs. Blosser, Engle is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Edna M. Gardner, of Louisville, Ky.; Mrs. Irene Naftzger, of Lima; three sons, Frank and John F. Engle, both of Lima, and William Engle, of Lansing, Mich. A sister, Mrs. Margaret Wilkeson, of Ft. Wayne, also survives.
