Mass for Alex Engle, 82, of 629 Collins-av, who died at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ada Blosser, 402 S. West-st, will be said at 9 a.m. Monday in St. John Catholic church. The Rev. Leonard Plumanns will be celebrant. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
Engle was born in Ft. Wayne, but had lived in Lima for the past 38 years. He was a retired merchant, having at one time operated a clothing store in E. Spring-st.
Engle was a member of St. John church and the Holy Name society. He also was a member of the Borrowed Time club.
Besides his widow and daughter, Mrs. Blosser, Engle is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Edna M. Gardner, of Louisville, Ky.; Mrs. Irene Naftzger, of Lima; three sons, Frank and John F. Engle, both of Lima, and William Engle, of Lansing, Mich. A sister, Mrs. Margaret Wilkeson, of Ft. Wayne, also survives.
