He worked as the meat manager for Route 66 Red and White and Shop and Save supermarkets, Greensburg, until retirement.
Paul was a parishioner of St. Florian Catholic Church, United, a former parish councilman, and a 40-year member of the choir.
At the age of 80, Paul J. Bitner, of Mammoth, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John W. "Jack" Bitner; brother-in-law, K. Earl Kemp; sisters-in-law, Minnie Mae and Jane Bitner; and a grandson, John Patrick Bitner.
He was survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Patricia Malia Bitner; three sons, Paul R. (Mary), of Kecksburg, John W. (Sherry Spatora), of Mt. Pleasant, and Thomas P., of Mammoth; a daughter, Ann (Robert) Myers, of Greensburg; brothers, Clyde J. (Lois), of Yalaha, Fla., and his twin and best friend, Robert L., of Kecksburg; sisters, Geraldine (Jack) Wright, of Greensburg, and Lorraine Kemp, of Indian Head; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Benjamin, Peggy, Emily, Rose, Jacob and Lily Bitner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
