RILEY V. REYNOLDS
LANDRUM -- Riley V. Reynolds, 79, of Rt.2, Landrum, in the Gowensville community of Greenville County, died at 6:40 a.m. yesterday in a Spartanburg hospital, following a week of illness.
He was a retired farmer, born in Spartanburg County, a son of the late Walker and Nannie Wingo Reynolds. He was a member of the Gowansville Baptist Church. His wife was the late Avey Rainnes Reynolds.
Surviving are three daughters, Miss Thelma Reynolds of the home; Mrs. Geneva King of Landrum; Mrs. Marie Gibbs of Campobello Route 2; a sister, Mrs. Nannie Hammett of Inman, a half-sister Mrs. Mae Holden of Spartanburg; four brothers, Harvey Reynolds of Campobello Route 2, Berry Reynolds of Inman, Carl Reynolds of Greer, and Rufus Reynolds of Greenville; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Gowensville Baptist Church by Rev. W.L. Freeman, Rev. Jack Phillips, Rev. Guy Lawson and Rev. Fay Lanford. Burial will be in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Carroll Dean King, Jimmy, Kenneth and Cletus Gibbs, Robby Colley, Kenneth Doster.
Honorary escort will be the Adult Men's Sunday School Class of Gowansville Baptist Church.
The body will be taken to the home at 10 a.m. Saturday and will be placed in the Church at 1 p.m. Petty Funeral Home of Landrum is in charge."
