Joseph P. Zachek Hilbert, Wis. Age 61, passed away Wednesday afternoon in Chilton following a lingering illness. He was born January 31, 1911 at Pilsen and had been a Hilbert resident most of his life. He was a Bank Director of the State Bank at Hilbert, the Past President of the Chamber of Commerce, the District Representative for the Boy Scouts of the Hilbert area and had been active in Scouting for over 20 years. He was a Director of the Area Development Development Corp. and was instrumental instrumental in planning the Hilbert Professional Building and the Hilbert Bank. He was retired from the former Zachek Construction Construction Co. and was a consultant consultant for the Hedrich Construction Construction Co. of Chilton.

He was married to Valeria Gau, September 11, 1934 in Hilbert. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Survivors are his wife; a son, Howard, Appleton; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zachek Sr., of Denmark; 4 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Louie Cherney, Manitowoc; Manitowoc; Mrs. Ray Kotche, Sun Prairie; a brother, Frank Zackek Jr., Green Bay

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Anthony Birdsall officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Kaptizke Funeral Home, Hilbert, Hilbert, after 3 p.m. Friday and the prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday evening.
