Jack Amos, 88 Joplin, Missouri passed away May 17, 2013 following a lengthy illness.

He was born December 20, 1924 in Wichita Falls, Texas to George and Willie Mae Brown Amos.

Jack had lived in the Joplin area for over 50 years. He retired in 1985 from the Iron Workers Local #584 after 65 years of service. He was a 62 year member of Masonic Lodge #512 of Webb City, where he was a Past Master, Scottish Rite Valley of Joplin, Ruth Chapter #177 Order of the Eastern Star, where he was a Past Patron and a 50+ year member. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Joplin, Missouri. Jack served during WW II with the Navy Seabees in the Pacific Theater.

Jack married Dolores Moser Bittick on September 8, 1967 in Joplin, Mo. and she survives. He is also survived by 1 son, Jann Amos, Webb City, Mo.; 4 daughters, Ramona Amos Caldwell, Whitesboro, Tx., Jackie Bittick McCaleb, Mobile, Al., Pam Bittick Speer, Joplin, Mo., Janice Bittick Wright, Mobile, Al., 9 grandchildren, JJ Caldwell Tyson, Tammy Speer Miller, Michelle Vader Gagnon, Vanessa Wright Grabber, Kristy Speer Overturf, Dana Vader Skarra, Brian Wright, Jonathan Wright, Stuart McCaleb,; 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 granddaughter, Anjalesa Amos Lampert, 1 grandson Ryan McCaleb, and 1 brother and 2 sisters.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday May 21, 2013 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary Chapel with Bruce Allen, minister officiating. Burial will follow at the Saginaw Cemetery. Masonic services will be 6:00 PM Monday at the mortuary with the visitation following.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory, Joplin, Missouri.
