Enlisted as Corporal in Company C of the Twenty-Fourth Michigan Volunteer Infantry on August 12, 1862, for 3 years. Mustered in to service on August 15, 1862. Wounded in action on July 1, 1863, at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Died of disease near Petersburg, Virginia, on January 18, 1865.
