Mrs. Edna Ballard, age 90, of Gatesville, died Monday, May 30, 2005, at a local nursing home.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Crosby officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Ballard was born on August 21, 1914, to the late Charles and Mary Rueter Scheef in the St. Paul community, near Marlin. She married Jimmy Wayne Ballard on Nov. 29, 1952, and they resided in Marlin until moving to Gatesville in the early '70s. She owned and operated Edna's Beauty Shop in Marlin for many years and she was a member of the St. Paul Church of Christ in Marlin.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Wayne Ballard of Gatesville; brother-in-law, Charlie Ballard and wife Mavis of Gatesville; sister-in-law, Clara Ballard of Gatesville; nieces and nephews, Luanne Lockhart and husband Bart of Hearne, Frank Jentsch and wife Linda of Hearne, Keith Jentsch and wife Patty of Franklin, Craig Jentsch and wife Holly of Gause, Doris Blakley Lee and husband Grayson of Gatesville, Judy Ballard Hicks and husband J.D. of Gatesville, JoAnn Ballard Jones and husband Michael of Gatesville, Carl Lacy and wife Martha of Conroe, Weldon Lacy and wife Dean of Premont, James Harold Blakley and wife Betty of Pearl; and numerous great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
