ZION – Allene Ray Brandon, 89, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at Magnolia Manor in Tupelo. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church and a retired Elementary School Teacher and Administrator. She enjoyed cooking and teaching the Children's Sunday School Class.

Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc with the Rev. Robert Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Phillip Brandon; her son, Ray Brandon (Melinda), all of the Zion Community; two grandchildren, Phillip Ray Brandon (Kara) of Rogers, Ark., and Katie Michelle Parker (Aaron) of Memphis, Tenn; and three great-grandchildren, Valerie, Zoe and Elena Brandon of Rogers, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos Ray and Birdie King Ray; one sister: Winnie Lee Latimer; and a brother, Herbert Ray.

Honorary pallbearers are the men of Zion Baptist Church.

Visitation is 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
