His WWI draft registration card listed him as Benjamin Franklin Jervis 14 Feb 1880. The transcription for his death from the Illinois Deaths and Stillbirths, 1916-1947 database on Family Search lists him as Benjamin Harrison Jarvis, born 2 Feb 1880. In the 1880 Champaign Co., IL census, he was listed as age 5/12, born in January. He was the son of Andrew Jervis and Hannah Sheargold. His parents were married originally on 23 Jan 1860 in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England. Apparently they divorced as they were married again on 24 Jan 1883 in Paxton, Ford Co., IL. By the 1900 census, Andrew was found in the county poor house, while Hannah was listed as divorced, having had 12 children, with 10 living.

Andrew Jervis was baptized on 1 Feb 1836 at Hinstock, Shropshire. As he was living still in 1900, he was likely the Andrew Jervis who died on 21 Feb 1902 in Champaign Co., IL and was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery and Mausoleum, Urbana, Champaign Co., IL, where his brother Joseph was also buried. Joseph married Catherine Sheargold, sister of Andrew's wife.

Hannah (Sheargold) Jervis was baptized on 5 Nov 1837 at Coseley, Staffordshire. She was living with her daughter Lizzie May (Jervis) Hewerdine (1882-1924) in Fisher, IL for the 1920 census.
