Hannah Sheargold was baptized Nov 1837 at Coseley, Staffordshire, the daughter of Edward Sheargold and Hannah Jevons, who were married 18 Feb 1827 Saint Bartholomew, Wednesbury, Staffordshire, England.

Hannah first married Andrew Jervis, who was baptized on 1 Feb 1836 at Hinstock, Shropshire, on 23 Jan 1860 at Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England. The apparently divorced as they were married again on 24 Jan 1883 at Paxton, Ford, IL. The were again divorced by 1900, when she was in Fisher, IL with her daughters Kate and Lizzie. Andrew was listed in the county poor house, so he was likely the Andrew Jervis who died 21 Feb 1902 Champaign Co., IL and was buried at the Mount Hope Cemetery and Mausoleum, Urbana, Champaign Co., IL, where his brother Joseph was.

Hannah's younger sister Catherine and Andrew's older brother Joseph also emigrated to Champaign Co., IL, marrying there on 21 Feb 1868.

Per the 1900 census, Hannah had given birth to 12 children, with 10 still living. The first four, Thomas Edward, Sarah Ann, Mary Ann, and William Henry, were all baptized in Wolverhampton before the family emigrated. Their first child born in Illinois was a daughter listed as Fannie in 1870 and Hannah B in 1880. The remaining were James Charles, Joseph, Alice, Kate, Andrew David, Benjamin, and Lizzie.
