The funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Holman Funeral Home with U.S. Army Chaplain William M. Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with full military rites and Masonic rites conducted. Holman Funeral Home of Ozark is directing.
Visitation will be at the funeral home beginning at 4 p.m. Wednesday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted or the family suggests that memorials be made to the Shriners Cripple Children's Hospital.
Mr. Aplin was a native of Walton County, Fla. He attended Troy State University and resided in Japan for a number of years while in military service. He had resided in Ozark since 1973. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Frances "Dena" Aplin, Ozark; two daughters, Brenda DePuglio, Fort Levenworth, Kansas, and Alice Wallace, Ozark; four sisters, Margie Nell Evey, Gainesville, Fla., Genette Jackson, Jackson, Ala., Betty Sue Hoven, Citronelle, Ala., and Celetha Seymer, Aberdeen, Miss.; two brothers, Walter Aplin, Newton, and John Earl Aplin, Opp; five grandchildren also survive.
