Graveside services were held Monday afternoon in the Winamac cemetery for Andrew Scholer of Ora, whose death occurred suddenly Thursday at Hazelcrest, Ill. Forty-eight years old, he had been ill for a week from a ruptured ulcer. Mr. Scholer was born November 11, 1898 at St. Louis, Mo. He was married in 1923 to Agnes Lowry, formerly of Winamac, and they lived in Hammond, where he was a press room foreman in a printing plant. Last September they purchased a home in Ora and were preparing it for occupancy after his retirement. He was a member of the United Brethren church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Melbourne McConnell of Gary; brothers, John, Julius and Charles Scholer of St. Louis; sister, Mrs. Louise Conaway of St. Louis. Funeral services were held at Hammond Monday, in charge of the Rev. Loren Stein.
