The Elwood Call-Leader, p. 1, Wednesday, November 26, 1941

James Loren Cook, residing on South __ St died early this morning at Mercy hospital following an illness of several months. The deceased was a lifelong resident of the city and was a former employee of the Csrnexle-Illinois Steel Corporation plant here for many years. Mr. Cook was born, on Oct. 29, 1891 in Tipton County, the son of, Salem and Abigail Cook. He was united in marriage Sept. 11, 1911 and his widow, Myrtle Cook, survives. Two sons were born to this union, Clarence Cook, of Elwood and Donald Cook, of Summitville. There is one grandchild surviving. Four sisters survive, Mrs, Pauline Murrey, of this city; Mrs. Margaret Geti, of Gary, Mrs. Sarah Culbertson, of Alexandria and Mrs. Susan Whitaker, of Elwood. The body was removed to the Copher and Fesler funeral chapel where it will remain until rites are held. Funeral services will be conducted at the chapel at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon with Rev. Robert W. Sssre, of the First Baptist church in charge. Burial will be made in the City cemetery.
