MINNIE WOOD PASSED AWAY AT 1:15 P. M.
Widely Known Woman Victim of Paralysis and Pneumonia
This afternoon at 1:15 o'clock, Mrs. Minnie Mabel Wood passed away at her home, 301 South West street, of complications resulting from a stroke of paralysis and pneumonia, at the age of 56 years. Mrs. Wood had been ill for about a year and was confined to her bed for the past three weeks. The body was removed to the R C. Gipe funeral home. No plans for the funeral were arranged today. The deceased was born in Tipton county March 12, 1880, the daughter of Abigail and Salem Cook. She was married June 3, 1898 at Frankton to Hugh B. Wood, and has made Alexandria her home for the past thirty years. Surviving beside the husband and on adopted son, Alfred, are four sisters. Mrs. Sarah Culbertson, of Alexandria, Mrs. Margaret Goetz, of Gary. Mrs. Pauline D. Murray and Mrs. Susanna Whittaker, of Elwood, one brother, James L. Cook, of Elwood, and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wood had been an active member of the Church of God here, and was known all over the city for her fine character and pleasing personality. Those who had occasion to know her were greatly grieved to hear of her passing.
