Imogene Joy, 78, of Parkersburg passed away Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at the Worthington Manor Nursing Home in Parkersburg.

She was born May 22, 1930, in Wood County, the daughter of the late Burt and Virginia Longwell.

Imogene retired from St. Joseph's Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur C. "Art" Joy; two sons, Steven and wife, Maggie Sharp, of Newark, W.Va., and Gary Sharp of Pennsboro; one daughter, Sandy Carder of Parkersburg; two sisters, Betty Bacorn of Parkersburg and Maxine Custer of Parkersburg; one brother, Tom Longwell of Parkersburg; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Sharp; her second husband, Harold Monroe; and two brothers, John and Jim Longwell.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, with the Rev. Dean Ash officiating. Interment will follow in Lubeck Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
