Allene Moore Cox, 86, resident of the Oaks at Mayview, passed away peacefully on May 25th. She was predeceased by her husband, Luther Cox, who passed away in February of 1977. She was also predeceased by four brothers Leo Moore of Thomasville, Alabama, Marvin Moore of Pensacola, Florida, Vayton Moore of Mobile, Alabama and Luther Grey Moore of Walker Springs, Alabama.
Allene is survived by her five children - Karenn Cox of Raleigh, Nancy Cox Baker and husband Robert of Fearrington, Cathryn Leigh Cox of Austin, Texas, Jeannie Cox of Atlanta, Georgia, and Steven Luther Cox and wife Robbie of Cary. Allene is also survived by five grandchildren - Robert Lance Baker and wife, Shannon of Hillsborough, Jason Malloy Geraghty of Raleigh, Brenton Keith Baker and wife Ali of Austin, Texas, Zachary Luther Cox of St. Louis, Missouri, and Allison Grey Cox of Cary. She also leaves behind 4 great grandchildren.
Aleene was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, and wife. There are no words to describe how much she will be missed by her family and friends. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Oaks at Mayview, Manor Village at Preston, Rex Hospital and WakeMed for all of their wonderful care during the past two years.
