Catherine Moffitt Dies in Hospital
Mrs. Catherine Moffitt, 68, widow of Joseph F. Moffitt, superintendent of the Home Life Insurance Company, died at 11:30 Saturday night at Mercy Hospital.
The funeral will be held from the home, 40 Oak Street, on Wednesday morning at 9:30 with a requiem mass at 10 in St. Aolysius' Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover.
Mrs. Moffitt was born in Scranton, a daughter of Hubert Gordon and Mary Barrett. She was one of the best known residents of South Wilkes-Barre.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary at home; son Joseph, Detroit, and these sisters and brothers, Mrs. Mary Durkan, A. A. Gordon, and Hubert Gordon, Scranton, and Mrs. James Gavan, West Palm Beach, Fla. Her husband died last May.
