Caroline Friede Wilhelmina Wegner (who liked to be called Carolyn) was the daughter of German immigrants Georg Wegner and Christianna Siegerd (also seen as Seegers, Seagers, and other variations). She was born in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, which had many German immigrants at the time. Her native tongue was German, which is what was spoken in her home and her Lutheran church. By the 1890s, she and her family had moved to Hoboken, New Jersey.
Her sister Anna Margaretha Wegner Richter is also buried in Salem cemetery. (Find A Grave Memorial #114817897)
