Retired Driller Dies in Norton
Ora Baker, 88, of 2310 S. Emporia, died early Wednesday at the state hospital in Norton, Kan.
A retired oil driller, he had been hospitalized for more than a year. He was born July 4, 1881[1871], in Woodsfield, Ohio, and came to Wichita more than 40 years ago.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Dean Bailey, 2310 S. Emporia; Mrs. Merle Wimp, 4610 Maple; and Mrs. Joe Brown, 3901 S. Broadway; two sons, Raymond, of Wilson, Kan., and Ronald of Larned; and three grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are to be announced later by the DeVorss-Gard Mortuary.
