Death Claims Mrs. P. J. Thistlewood After Long Illness

Mrs. P. J. Thistlewood, aged 71 years, died this afternoon at 1 o'clock at her residence, 2515 Washington avenue, after a linfgering illness. Mrs. Thistlewood was born in Edwards county, Illinois, May 17, 1848, her maiden name being Harriet Barney. She was married to P. J. Thistlewood September 25, 1873 and came to Cairo where she has resided ever since. Her husband died on Sept. 17, 1906.

Mrs. Thistlewood was a member of the First Christian church. She was beloved by all who knew her, gentle and charitable, always unselfish and kind, Hers is a place that can never be filled in the hearts of her friends.

Mrs. Thistlewood leaves surviving her thre sons, Wilbur B., John and Arthur, all of Cairo, and two daughters, Mrs. Julius Ericson of St. Louis and Mrs. Philips Redman of Cairo. A sister, Mrs. Anise Hastings also resides in Cairo.

The arrangements for the funeral have not been completed and will be (nothing more was written)

Funeral Services for Mrs. Thistlewood

Funeral services for Mrs. P. J. Thistlewood who passed away Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the residence, 2515 Washington avenue. The services will be conducted by Rev. Geo. F. McGee, pastor of the First Christian church. A special interurban will leave Twenty-fifth and Walnut street at 2:15 for Beech Grove cemetery where interment will be made.

The pall bearers will be Messrs. C. C. Terrell, John W. Conkle, J. L. Harris, Albert F. Staehle, M. G. Pink, H. S. Antrim, H. S. Richardson, John T. Brown, Claude Winter, William G. Cunningham.
