Although Dr. Richard Potts Johnson was Appointed Surgeon, his Officer Rank on Muster Cards is not noted. I cannot verify a rank as Colonel nor Brigadier General, but was somewhere above Lt. or Captain. Other archival documents may prove his Rank.
