Adam Martin was born on March 31, 1834, in Germany to proud parents Lewis and Catherine Bumburger Martin. Adam is the 1st child born to the couple out of 6 children. His siblings include Lewis Jr., Daniel, Jacob, Mary L., and Charles Martin.
Adam met and married Francis Jane Jacobs. On June 25, 1863, in Fulton Illinois. They had children together, Stephen, Mary, May, Catherine, Henry, William, Mary Elizabeth, Samuel, Irvin, and Lonzo Martin.
Adam served in the Civil War. He enlisted on October 28, 1862, in Harrisburg Pennsylvania, He was a private, infantry 172 drafted Militia.
Sadly, Adam died on January 23, 1914. He is buried in Coal Creek Lutheran Cemetery with his wife Jane.
