He is survived by daughters Kathie (Jim) Chatlin of Mesquite, NV, Lois (Randy) Shirk of Alta Loma, CA, Geri Browne of Long Beach, CA, Donna Browne of Scottsdale, AZ and Linda (Jim) Ginsburg, Los Angeles, CA. He is also survived by five grandchildren Wendi (Ryan) Larsen, Mandie (Aaron) Rodgers, Michelle (Omid) Hamzeinejad, Shauna (Amir) Behmaram, and Traci Shirk. Seven great grandchildren Tiana Stauffer, Talon Stauffer, Konor Larsen, Katrina Larsen, Aiden Hamzeinejad, Ashton Hamzeinejad, and little baby girl Behmaram.
He served in the U.S. Navy 1941 – 1947 and in the Navy Reserve 1947 – 1952. He was assigned to the U.S.S McDougal, the U.S.S. Indiana during WWII and the U.S.S. General W.A. Mann during the Korean War. He worked for the City of Pasadena Water and Power for 32 years. He was a Mason and member of Scottish Rite.
He loved the ocean and spent many hours on his sailboat. He was a "jack of all trades and master of all" and could fix anything. He shared is love of travel, camping and sailing with his family. He was a man of few words, a man of honor, well respected and taught us to be inquisitive, determined, honest, patient and helpful. He had a wonderful, adventurous life and was an inspiration to us all. We will miss him forever.
