"Rites Held Today for Esther Hutchens
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Chittenden Funeral Home for Mrs. Esther Hutchens, octogenarian, who died in Kent on October 1. Rev. B. Stanley Moore and Rev. G. Dunlay conducted the rites. Intermant was in the Kent cemetery.
Born November 13, 1864 in Iowa, Mrs. Hutchens had lived in the Kent area for 27 years. She was an active member of St. James' church and spent much time in Red Cross work.
Surviving relatives include a brother, Frank Taylor of Kent; four sisters, Maude and Alice Taylor of Kent, Grace Lyman of Iowa, Mary Shields of Spokane and DeVee Dunlap of Puyallup. Several neices, nephews and grandchildren also survive. The late Dr. Owen Taylor was a brother of Mrs. Hutchens."
