W/O L ByronVirginia J Richards, 92, passed away early Saturday morning, Jan. 21, 2017 in IU Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie. She was born in Delaware County, the daughter of the late Dennis and Iva (Waugh) Wright.

Virginia graduated from Harrison Township High School, Gaston, in 1942. Virginia married L. Byron Richards on Jan. 23, 1944 in Matthews, IN. He preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 2005.

Mrs. Richards, who was a resident of Delaware and Grant Counties all of her life, attended Epworth United Methodist Church, Matthews, where she enjoyed being a part of the UMW. She also enjoyed playing cards, computer games and spending time with family.

Survivors include her children, Pam Richards, Roger (Amy) Richards, and Larry (Frederic Urban) Richards; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Boggs and Mary Fight; and a brother, Robert (Doris) Wright.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters Betty, Sally, Ruth and Jane and a brother, Paul.

Memorials may be made to Family Service Society for the Flannery-Keal Home, 101 S. Washington St., Marion, IN 46953.
