Bedford "Mac" McDonald , 88 years old of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016, at The Crossing in Baton Rouge. He was born on Sunday, February 13, 1927, in Magnolia, Mississippi. Mac was a good husband, a good father and a good friend. He was a truck driver for 39 years and he never met a stranger. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran. Surviving are daughter, Brenda Cannon, daughter and son-in-law, Janie Bertrand and James Bertrand; grandchildren, Sherrie JoAnn Rhodes (Ronnie), James Cannon (Kim), Lamar Frazier (Stephanie), and Kenzia Wilson (Lonnie); sisters, Marie Barnes and Jaunita Morgan (Ray); also survived by 6 great-grandchildren; his companion and her children, Lenora Juneau, Wayne, Guy, Chari (Thad), Lara (Skipper) Iver (Terri) and their children and grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews,. He is preceded in death by wife of 47 years, Lula Mae Bowman McDonald, grandson, Joseph Cannon, Jr., parents, B.L. and Lennie McDonald, brother & sister-in-law, Kenneth and Dorothy McDonald; father and mother-in-law, James and Ethel Bowman. Friends will be received Friday, January 15, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Ponchatoula . Services will be held at Funeral Home Chapel - Ponchatoula, Saturday, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
