The subject of this brief sketch, was born Dec. 25th, 1832, in Dolton, Devonshire, England, and died at her home in this city June 20, 1912. The deceased emigrated to this country in 1847 and was married at Milwaukee, Wis., to Mr. Edwin Carveth Sept. 20th, 1851, who preceded her to his reward on June 29th, 1898.
This worthy couple spent the first part of their married life in different cities and states, finally settling on their farm four miles east of this city, later moving to town, where they spent many happy years of their married life together.
Aunt Celia as she was best known, was a very earnest Christian, having united with the Methodist church in her early life, and grew up into this faith, which comforted and sustained her, during the lonely years of her widowed life and supported her in her long and painful illness. She waited and murmured not, believing that He doeth all thing well. while we shall miss her we have the blessed assurance that she has passed from death into life.
The funeral was held at the Methodist church Saturday, June 22nd. Her pastor Rev. Callahan speaking from the text she had chosen- John 14-1-2.
