Clara V. Schmidt, 89, St. Thomas, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Care Center. She was born March 6, 1905, in Henley, the daughter of henry and Agnes Loethen Adrian. She was married Feb. 8, 1927, in St. Thomas, to Thomas B. Schmidt, who survives at the center. She was a lifelong resident of St. Thomas. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and St. Ann's Sodality. Other survivors include: two sons, Thomas G. Schmidt, Florissant, and Daniel A. Schmidt, Jefferson City; two daughters, Geneva Plassmeyer, St. Elizabeth, and Eldora Hoecker, St. Thomas; one sister, Bertha Beck, St. Elizabeth; 15 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one step-great grandchild and one step-great-great-grandchild. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. The Rev. Don Antweiler will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today at the Knights of Columbus Hall, St. Thomas with a rosary at 4 p.m. and Christian wake service at 8:15 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home, Meta."
