Bernice is the daughter of of Tracey Wood Nickerson and Alice Mary Allen. She married Auldin Mallory Bethune on 26 December 1926, in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.

MRS. AULDIN BETHUNE-OF FOREST GLEN- Mrs. Auldin Bethune, 71, of Forest Glen, Yarmouth County, Canada,passed away Saturday Feb. 2, at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. She was the former Bernice Lillian Nickerson. Bernice was born to the late Tracey and Alice (Allen) Nickerson, at Richfield, Nova Scotia, Canada. Bernice is survived by her husband Auldin, of the home, and six daughters, Geraldine, Kay, Jean, Etta, Daisy, and Deanna, and one son, Lawrence. three sisters, Mrs Minnie Harding; Gladys and Arlene both of Dearfield; 27 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was presided in death by two brothers, Allan and Lyman. The body was taken to Sweeny's Funeral Home, at Yarmouth, Canada. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. B. Dixon Officiating, burial will be at the Forest Glen Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Heart Foundation.
