Paul R. Meany, age 70, of 911 N. 6th Street, Manitowoc, died Monday morning, June 10, 2013 with his loving wife by his side at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on April 3, 1943, in Manitowoc, son of the late Francis and Hazel (Torrison) Meany. Paul was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1961 and then received a scholarship to attend and play basketball for Arizona State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. On August 31, 1963 Paul married Sharon Prickett at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He was employed as an accountant for over 42 years, and of those 25 years he was employed with R.C. Dennen, a CPA Firm in Scottsdale, Arizona. Paul was a proud member of the Arizona State Sundevil Club and Tempe Touchdown Club.

Paul is survived by his wife of 50 years: Sharon, Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law: Colette and Joe Czupek, Scottsdale, AZ; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Kirk and Frances Meany, Kansas City, MO and Kip Meany, Tempe, AZ; two grandchildren: Krista Meany, Willmington, DE and Daniel Meany, Springfield, MO; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Mary Weir, Manitowoc and Jeanice and Conrad Lerum, Plant City, FL; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Scott and Jeanette Prickett, Marshfield, WI and Brad and Kay Prickett, Manitowoc. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law: Claude and Betty Meany; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Lois and Bill Walsh, Joanne and Jerry Zarn.

Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and a Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at St. James Episcopal Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Diane Murry.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, Manitowoc.
