Susannah was the 2nd daughter of George Ford (b.1781) and Mary Brokenshire (b.1785) who lived in Penpont (St. Breward), Triggshire, Cornwall, England. Penpont is also where Edward Honey was working, which is likely how they met.

She emigrated from England with husband Edward Honey sometime between 1848-1851.

After husband Edward's death in 1884 she went to live with her 3rd son Edward John Honey and his wife Jane Eliza Mitchell.
