On the application for his military headstone his DOB was listed as July 18, 1898. Later the records were reviewed and the previous date was red-penciled through with the corrected DOB was entered: July 19, 1897. In entering these memorials, I've found that some of the headstone 'mistakes' were caught before the marker was made, most were not. I have listed it as it should be, but anyone looking for him might want to check the other year also. I've also added a photo that will attest to the correction.
