He got his start in the small town of Mulhall, Oklahoma with a good rancher/showman Col. Zack Mulhall, during the early 1900s. After the decline of The Miller Brothers 101 Ranch in Oklahoma and performing in Wild West Shows and Rodeos with his trick mule Virgil as Cowboy Clown Dan Dix; he made his way to Hollywood and worked in the motion picture industry as support personnel and actor. He took parts in 2 reel comedy shorts for Fox Studios and was in five films from the 1920s to the last "The Oxbow Incident" 1943. In his elder years he worked as an advance contract agent for the traveling shows, "Clyde Beatty Circus" and several others. Dan Dix traveled the world and had a boundless life of experiences and adventure, plus memories of many places and people. He was good friends with likes of Tom Mix, Will Rogers, and many others in the world of entertainment and show-business.
