MRS. Augusta Reuther Succumbs at Brillion
Brillion – Mrs. Augusta Reuther, 92, died at her home here Sunday morning. Death was due to old age.
She was born in Saxony, Germany, on Aug. 14, 1841. She came to American with her parents, age the age of six years. The family settled in the town of Centerville, Manitowoc County. Her name before her marriage was Augusta Rossberg. In October 1860, she was united in marriage to Peter Reuther. They made their home at Centerville for several years, alter moving to Two Rivers. In May 1879, hey came to Brillion where they owned and operated the Brillion House now known as the Hotel Schneider. Mr. Reuther died on Aug 14, 1905.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon from the residence, the Rev. Paul Kasper, officiating. Burial will take place in the family lot on the village cemetery.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Hattie Schlicting of Huron, S.D., Mrs. R. D. O. Andrews and Miss Sarah Reuther, of Brillion, two sons, Otto Reuther of Manitowoc, and Emil at home, two sisters, Mrs. Ernestine of Carroll, Iowa and Mrs. Anna Festerling of Sheboygan, and 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
