Gerard William Anderwald was born on April 19, 1929 in Bandera, Texas to Thomas J. & Eleanora Mary (Snaer) Anderwald. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Shell Refinery as a craftsman. Mr. Anderwald lived in Baytown for most of his life and moved to Buffalo from Inks Lake, near Burnet, Texas, in May 2005. He enjoyed fishing and working. Mr. Anderwald was a member of the Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, Roman Catholic Church in Buffalo, Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion. He passed away on June 16, 2013 in Bryan, Texas. Mr. Anderwald was preceded in death by both of his parents and five brothers, Thomas Bernard, James Frances, Thomas Peter, Anthony Joseph and Vincent Anderwald.
Surviving family includes loving wife, Dolores Anderwald of Buffalo, Texas and sisters, Mary Elenor Campion of San Antonio, Sister Bernadette of San Antonio, Dorothy Callaham of Bandera, Vera King of San Antonio, Louise Koehler of San Antonio and Joan Walters of Bandera.
Graveside services for Gerard William Anderwald, age 84, of Buffalo, will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, June 20, 2013 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Bandera, Texas. A visitation will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the Walters Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas.
