Services were January 4 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Nashville, with the Rev. Merry P. Jones officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Dr. Thomas P. and Selina Moore Holman. His wife, Anne Sugg Holman, died in 1977.
Before his retirement, Mr. Holman was a free lance writer, and for ten years prior to his free lance work, he edited a farm magazine. His articles appeared in such magazines as "Coronet", "Pageant", "Christina Herald", "Forbes", "Barrons", "Yale Review", and "North American Review".
He was an honorary elder at Vine Street Christian Church in Nashville and was a former Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lucile Butterfield of San Diego, California, and Mrs. Mary Douglas Mullins, Hermitage; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.
