JAMES B. RUT

James B. Rut was born to Frank V. and Cecila (Vitak) Rut on August 23, 1913, on a farm northeast of Tobias, and passed away December 28, 1993, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, at the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 5 days. He was one of nine children in the family.

Jim attended country school through the eighth grade. He had to quit school at this time to help his father farm after his grandfather passed away.

Jim was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. John's Catholic Church in Tobias. He married Mildred Weber on November 28, 1939, and to this union one son Roger, was born.

Jim farmed all of his life near Ohiowa, Alexandria, Tobias and Milligan. Due to failing health, he had to have a farm sale and he and Mildred retired and moved to Milligan.

He was a member of the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milligan.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred' son Robert (Mary Ann), two brothers, Francis and Ervin; five sisters Emily Hajek, Alice Schielke, Helen Suda, Agnes (Charles) Nedza; and Marie (Al) Bright; two grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
