Bernice Palmer
Mrs. Loy J. Palmer, 92, formerly of 110 W. Sixth Ave. and a resident of Rolling Hills Health Center in Topeka, died Nov. 20, 1994, at the center.
Mrs. Palmer, who was a homemaker, moved from Arkansas City to Emporia in 1940.
Bernice Tipton, the daughter of Al and Charity Alice Graham Tipton, was born May 4, 1902, Arkansas City. She married Loy J. Palmer on Sept. 14, 1940, Topeka. He died Sept. 9, 1972.
Mrs. Palmer was a member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women in Emporia. She was a former member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by two brothers, Melvin Tipton of Arkansas City and Alvanzo Tipton of Spokane, Wash.; and two sisters, Gertrude Bossi of Arkansas City and Alice Tipton of Topeka. A brother, Foster Tipton, and two sisters, Florence Hanson and Gladys Chambers, died earlier.
Cremation has taken place. The graveside inurnment service is pending with Carlson Funeral Home.
