Mrs. Joseph Kolbe, 78, the former Martha Reiser of the town of Charlestown, died at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, at 5:45 p.m. Thursday after a lingering illness. She had been hospitalized two weeks.

Funeral services will be at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Chilton, and at St. Martin Catholic Church, Chilton, with the Rev. Andre Weller, OSM., of Milwaukee, a grandson of the deceased, will be celebrant of the solemn requiem high Mass. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Kolbe was born Oct. 8, 1884 in the town of Charlestown, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Rieser.

June 14, 1901, she was married to St. Mary Church, Chilton, to Joseph Kolbe. He died Nov. 6, 1952. She was a member of the Christian Mothers and Mission Societies of her church.

Surviving are four sons, Hugo of Milwaukee, Elmer and Leo and Clem of Chilton; two daughters, Mrs. Arnold Weller of Chilton and Mrs. Werner Geiser of Charlesburg; four brothers, the Rev Joseph Reiser of DeSoto, Mo., Ambrose and John of Chilton and Theodore of Reedsville; two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Pfister and Mrs. John P. Koehler of Chilton; 28 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
