Entered into life eternal, Dec. 22, 1907, Edmond Butler, aged 75 years. Mr. Butler was born in County Waterford, Ireland, in 1832 and came to this country in 1850. In 1865 Mr. Butler married Miss Ellen Cullinan, also of County Waterford, Ireland, daughter of Michael Cullinan, a farmer. Seven children blessed this union, James, Mrs. John J. O'Brien, John, Thomas, Edmond, William and Louise. A wife and six children survive him with the exception of James who passed away several years ago. Soon after landing in this country he went to work for the James Haight family by whom he was greatly respected Mr. Butler died after a two week's illness of congestion of the lungs, which he bore with great bravery and fortitude and was conscious to the last. Edmond Butler was a consistent citizen, an indulgent husband, a true husband; he filled the various relations of life as husband, father and friend, and filled them well. He was gently and lovingly laid to rest in the cemetery of St. Joseph's at Millbrook after a high mass of requiem offered by Father Cushing. The bearers were Charles Sweezey, P. H. Keaver, James Reardon, Allison Butts, John E. Mack, and Thomas Wetheral.

The will of Edmond Butler, late of Oak Summit, was admitted to probate. The estate consists of $12,000 real property and $8,000 personal property. The use of the entire estate is given to Ellen C. Butler, widow of the deceased, during her life, after which it is to be divided equally among the following children: John M., Edmond, William C, Louisa H., Thomas E. and Sallie H. Butler O'Brien.
