Joseph Hostetler, farmer and stock raiser. Section 30, P.O. Mulvane, is a native of Ohio; was born in Holmes County, January 24, 1833. At an early age, removed to Illinois locating in Carroll County, which was his home for several years. He was a pioneer in the Northwestern country, being among the first to settle at Helena, Montana, being engaged in mining in that section. Mr. H. came from Illinois to Kansas in the spring of 1877. He is one of the solid farmers of Butler County. He was married, in Illinois to Miss Eliza Malin. They have eight children-Lenora, Hattie, Freddie, George, Adel, Mattie, Eddie and Frank. pg. 56
