Mulvane Woman, Kin of Wichita Man, Dies

Mrs. Mary Amelia Howard, 89, Mulvane, Kan., mother of Walter Howard, 1513 Laura, died Thursday at St. Luke's Hospital, Wellington, Kan.

Mrs. Howard had been ill for two years. She was born Dec. 1, 1869, at Highland, Ill. She was married to William E. Howard, a farmer, Oct. 25, 1888, at Highland. He died Nov. 26, 1945.

Mrs. Howard moved to Mulvane from Highland in 1893. She was a member of First Brethren Church, Mulvane.

Survivors besides her son include two daughters, Mrs. John Dunnell, Mulvane, and Mrs. Robert Mayfield, Rt. 1, Mulvane; a half sister, Mrs. Ella Geppart, St. Louis, Mo.; a half brother, Jac Geppart, Highland; 25 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Brethren Church, Mulvane. The Rev. Robert K. Blaine, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Mulvane Cemetery.

Mulvane Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
